About Sydney
Background & approach
I found chiropractic before I could even understand what it meant. Growing up right here in Battle Creek, my parents first brought our family in to see our family chiropractor, Dr. Eric Teachout. What I remember most are the visits themselves: the quiet of the room, the gentle, exact way he worked, and the way I felt afterward, lighter, freer, like my whole body had exhaled.
Chiropractic care was simply part of how our family stayed well, and I never stopped going, from childhood through my years as a competitive athlete and golfer. I am grateful to the chiropractors who helped keep me moving and feeling my best along the way.
What I did not realize back then was how unusual that experience was. I assumed every family did this, that regular chiropractic checkups were just part of growing up, the same way you would go to the dentist or get your eyes checked. It was not until I was older that I understood how many people go their whole lives without experiencing what it feels like to have a well-cared-for spine and nervous system. Closing that gap for other families is the reason I became a chiropractor.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Western Michigan University and my Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker University in 2025, training for several years in Austin, Texas before coming home. Battle Creek is where this all started for me, and it is where I get to build The Creek Chiropractic & Wellness, a practice built for families, for kids, and for parents who want their children to grow up cared for and well. I do not believe chiropractic care should be rare or reserved for people in pain; I believe it should be a normal, everyday part of a healthy family life.
